About Library
VRC Digital & Physical Library
The Valmiki Research Centre (VRC) Library is poised to become a premier resource hub for Ramayana literature, aiming to support scholars, students, and spiritual seekers alike. To ensure systematic access and academic utility, a categorization and segmentation process is initiated, organizing the available Ramayana literature in the library by language and type.
A large-scale initiative to source and digitize Ramayana-related texts has already commenced. To enhance access, a state-of-the-art digital library platform been established. VRC is actively coordinating with various government, university, institutional, and religious libraries across India to collect, download, and digitize literary works. Digitalisation of VRC library is in the process by seeking permission to access, reproduce the literature from relevant authorities, across the country and globe.
A comprehensive catalogue of Ramayana-related titles currently available in the VRC Library is accessible for public reference. As part of its ambitious first-year goal, the Centre aims to collect a minimum of 1,00,000 Ramayana-related literary works. To this end, VRC has initiated collaborations with prominent libraries across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Thanjavur, Kolkata, Varanasi, and other libraries located at Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, etc. Notably, Kanchi alone is home to over 280 libraries, and focused outreach efforts are underway to obtain permissions and source valuable materials. In parallel, VRC is compiling an extensive e-book collection of ancient and digitized Ramayana texts to ensure their preservation and global accessibility. Strategic partnerships with external institutions will further support the expansion and scalability of the Digital Library initiative.
